My Intro

I am a 44 year old NZ born woman living in the UK with my husband and four young boys.

I am a self-taught artist who enjoys making beaded art dolls:

Last year, I started drawing and painting for the first time in about 30 years.

I was most afraid to draw faces.

I have sensory issues so I found charcoal very difficult at first, but I am learning to love it.

I had never used pastels before:

I love to play with colours and textures, the more vibrant and tactile, the better!

My youngest child is starting school in Sept next year (2014), so I am going to apply for a pre-degree course - Diploma Art & Design Foundation Studies which I hope will lead to an Art Degree in my future.

I can apply between December this year and March 2014, so I have five months to prepare everything I need for my application such as a portfolio of my work to date.  I will also be using my time between now and the enrollment date to further my self-education via online and local courses.

This blog will record my journey, plans and the arty discoveries I make on the way.

If I am lucky enough to be accepted, I will share my progress!
